About Unemployment Claim Map
Unemployment Claim Map is a free, plain-English guide for people in the United States who lost a job and want to know how unemployment insurance works in their state: how to file, how much the weekly benefit is, how many weeks it lasts, whether there is a waiting week, what happens if you quit or are fired, how to appeal a denial and where to find free legal help. Free tools figure an appeal deadline from the state's own rule, estimate a weekly benefit in the states where the formula is simple enough to apply, and write an appeal letter, a hearing checklist and, where a state accepts one, a waiver letter. They all work in your browser.
We are not a law firm and not a government agency. We do not represent anyone, we do not file claims or appeals, and we never contact an agency for you. Only your state's unemployment agency decides your claim. We never tell anyone that they qualify. We link to official sources: state law, the state agency, its appeals office and legal aid.
